Is Matchmaking not the same as online dating?

Matchmaking is very different than online dating. It is a personalised service where we take the time to get to know every one of our members, what their partner preferences are and what they have to offer. We then hand select your matches for you after conducting a search, and screen several dates for you. This process alone saves you enormous amounts of time which you can spend dating, instead of swiping online or reading through endless dating profiles. Matchmaking is very personal, discrete, private and best of all effective!

Why would I invest in a Matchmaking when there are so many free dating sites?

Free dating sites are all around and if you have the time to sort through hundreds, if not thousands of profiles, and then go on endless go-no-where dates looking for The One, it is an option. What are the membership requirements?

Membership with The One Matchmaking is conditional upon being at least 21 years of age, single, looking for a committed, long-term relationship, being free of criminal convictions and not living at the same address as a current or past partner.

How does the process work?

We have four simple steps to finding The One. It starts out by you applying for membership with us. We then schedule an intake call so we can get to know you and what you are looking for in a potential partner. Once the background check is complete and you are accepted as a member, we ask you to fill out a questionnaire and conduct a Date Ready interview. Following, we start the search process, matching you with someone who aligns with your values and life vision. Once we’ve found a great match, we take care of all the logistics so all you need to do is show up for the date and have fun! Following the date, we get your feedback. It’s always amazing when sparks fly, but if things don’t work out, your feedback helps us further refine your search criteria and improve your chances for the future.

How will I be matched?

As a member, one of our Matchmakers will take you through the onboarding process. It is a combination questionnaire / interview process where we get to know you in detail. We want to deeply understand who would be an ideal partner for you so we can find you the best matches. Based on this information, we hand select every match. It is a combination of art, science and intuition developed over years of experience. After every date, you provide us with feedback so we can further refine our matching criteria until you find The One.

Will my profile and photos be available on your website?

No, The One Matchmaking is not an online dating site but an offline, personal dating and matchmaking service. No public dating profile will be created and your personalised profile will only be shared with your selected matches once you have agreed to do so. Even then, it is highly confidential and we do not disclose any identifying information upfront. You will have the possibility to review your profile and approve it before it is shared with anyone.

How much does it cost?

We offer a combination of Matchmaking and Dating Coaching with various package possibilities. You can join as a Passive Member for free or as either a Private or Priority Member with different dating packages available. Every active member of The One Matchmaking pays an annual Membership fee which covers the costs of the background check validation, questionnaires, the Date Ready Interview and active searching in our elite database of professional singles. The Private Membership fee is 297.-CHF. with special discounts offered.

What is a Concierge Service?

Think of it like your own dating Personal Assistant. We arrange all the dating logistics for your first dates, from making restaurant reservation, arranging cars and pick ups, to special services like candlelight dinners on the lake or helicopter rides to a mountain top for a champagne brunch. Depending on your budget and interest, we can arrange everything for you.

Does The One Matchmaking conduct background checks on members?

Yes, at The One Matchmaking your safety and security is important to us. One of the biggest complaints about online dating sites is that they are filled with scammers, cheaters and all sorts of violent, predatory and dysfunctional people.  One of the reasons this happens is there are usually no background checks being conducted by these platforms. We believe that investing in your love life, and a matchmaker, should come with a level of safety and security beyond internet dating. This is a key benefit of the service we provide and we do our best to reduce the risks for you. We therefore conduct a basic background screening on all members which includes passport and residency, criminal record, debt collection and marital status. What happens after the date? What if I didn’t like my date? What if I did?

After every date you will be asked to fill out a feedback form and to have a short 15 minute call with your Matchmaker. The feedback is a very important aspect of our process as it helps both you and us refine your dating criteria and matches.

If you didn’t like your date, we will happily provide them with your feedback so you don’t have to worry about letting them down easy. With our experience and sensitivity, we can convey your feedback in a way that will help them learn from the process and improve their chances for the future.

If you liked your date and want to see them again, we will happily inform your date of the good news and if the feeling is mutual, we will share your contact details allowing you to take it from there. As a general rule, we expect the man to call the lady to arrange the second date.

What if I had an amazing first date and want to ask the lady out at the end of the date?

Of course you are absolutely free to make arrangements for a second date or share contact details as you wish. It is totally up to you and if it feels right go for it! However, many of our members like to take some time to think things over and then to use our service to share contact details after having a night to reflect and sleep on it.

What if I am not happy, is there a guarantee?

Matchmaking is a very personal and intimate service and as we all know, two people may be perfect for each other on paper but their chemistry doesn’t work together. For this reason, we cannot guarantee that you will fall in love but what we can guarantee is that you will go on real dates, with real people, looking for a lasting, committed and loving relationship. In each membership agreement we guarantee you a set number of dates.

What if I have a complaint?

Our aim is to only have happy members so if you have a complaint something has gone wrong on our end. Please call us during regular working hours on 041 377 5377 to let us know and we will do our best to find a solution so you can be happy again. We all know, happy people have a much better chance to find love.

Where is my personal data stored and is it compliant with GDPR and Swiss Data Protection Laws?

The One Matchmaking uses the ultra-secure Swiss provider Tresorit Cloud Storage to store and manage your personal data. Tresorit is an end-to-end encrypted file sync & sharing service that provides the strongest data protection measures to ensure compliance with both Swiss and EU Data protection laws.
